    Work directly with the image formation group on the development of a handheld thermoacoustic imaging system;
    Responsible for signal analysis, processing, and filtering, within the image reconstruction group;
    Analyze current and new image reconstruction techniques for other relevant modalities such as CT or ultrasound;
    Improve current image reconstruction method for the photoacoustic imaging system (Nexus 128);
    Design, run, and analyze thermoacoustic / photoacoustic / ultrasound simulations with various settings and/or scanner geometries;
    Identify and employ tools for image reconstruction and signal processing applications;
    Develop image processing tools for both research and product development programs;
    Survey literatures from relevant fields and analyze their applicability to the handheld thermoacoustic imaging system;
